Alicante In-Port Race Starts Tomorrow

The start of the Volvo Ocean Race with the port of Alicante in the region of Valencia taking over from Sanxenxo/Vigo. It is an in-port race on October 4 [Tomorrow] followed by the start of the first leg to Cape Town a week later[11 th october]. The 6,500 nautical mile passage will see the fleet negotiate the Doldrums and pass the scoring gate at Fernando de Noronha then pick up the westerlies for Cape Town.
